Your iPhone’s keyboard has a handful of settings that let you customize the way you enter text for messages and emails. These settings can range from spell check to word suggestions.

The steps in this article were performed on an iPhone 7 Plus in iOS 12.2. Once you have enabled the setting in the steps below you will be able to use caps lock by opening an app that uses the default keyboard, such as Messages, then double-tapping the Shift key.

Step 1: Open the Settings menu.

Step 2: Scroll down and choose the General option.

Step 3: Select the Keyboard option.

Step 4: Tap the button to the right of Enable Caps Lock to turn it on.
